I’m writing a novel. Correction: I wrote a hundred pages, then put it away for 2 years lest I develop trichotillomania. Then I took it out again for a workshop this summer, in attempts to resurrect it.

Last week, Elizabeth and I, along with our friend Cory, went to see Step Up 3D (only slightly ironically). Besides the fact that 3D isn’t quite necessary in a dance movie — barring, of course, the standard aggressive hand dancing, which must be in one’s face — we thought the movie was crying out for yet another sequel. I have never worked with a CMS that worked. Without exception, all have become the homes of bloated, uncontrollable content rot, full of templates that are never or rarely used, and housing countless lost and forlorn pages roaming the bowels of the website in question. In April, Elizabeth and I spoke at the Content Strategy Forum, which was in Paris. Our workshop was called the Evolution of Content and we’re pretty sure it was awesome. During the conference, there was a volcano, and we were trapped. We survived by eating and drinking the only things we could find (cheese and wine). And by stalking dogs. Watch our video.
